Day 1 — Arrival in Tunis

Day 2 — Testour • Dougga

Discover Andalusian Testour and the UNESCO archaeological site of Dougga before returning to Tunis for dinner and overnight.

Breakfast at the hotel, then departure to Testour, a town of Andalusian origin dating from the 17th century; visit of Testour’s centre and free time, then departure to the archaeological site of Dougga, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the largest archaeological site in Tunisia, where you will discover the capitol, temples, theatre, baths and villas in an excellent state of preservation. After lunch, return to Tunis, the capital. Dinner and overnight stay at a 4-star hotel.

Day 3 — Tunis Medina • Bardo • Carthage • Sidi Bou Said

Visit Tunis Medina, the Bardo Museum, Carthage and Sidi Bou Said, then continue to Sousse for dinner and overnight.

Breakfast and departure to the Medina of Tunis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you will discover its typical architecture as you walk through its various souks, with the chance to do some shopping. Departure to the Bardo Museum, a former Beylical palace from the Ottoman era, now home to one of the finest collections of Roman mosaics in the world, with a lunch stop in the village of La Goulette. In the afternoon, continue to the archaeological site of Carthage and visit the Baths of Antoninus Pius as well as the Punic ports and the Tophet, a Punic sanctuary. Departure to the blue-and-white village of Sidi Bou Saïd for a relaxing moment, enjoying the panoramic views or simply savouring a mint tea. Departure to the city of Sousse. Check-in at a 4-star hotel, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4 — Sousse • Kairouan • Nefta • Tozeur

Explore Kairouan’s Great Mosque, Sidi Saheb Mausoleum and Aghlabid Basins, then continue through the Nefta oasis to Tozeur.

Breakfast at the hotel and departure to the holy city of Kairouan; guided visit of the Great Mosque of Kairouan, the very first in all of North Africa, dating back to the seventh century; continue to the Mausoleum of Sidi Saheb, also known as the Barber’s Mausoleum, where you will discover a blend of Arab-Andalusian architecture; photo stop at the Aghlabid Basins, a kind of water reservoir dating from the ninth century. In Kairouan you can also visit a craft cooperative of handmade carpets. Departure to Tozeur with a lunch stop along the way. Arrival in Bled El Djerid, the land of palm groves, where you can explore the lush oases of the village of Nefta and its historic centre by horse-drawn carriage. Departure to Tozeur, check-in at a 4-star hotel, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5 — Tozeur • Chebika • Tamerza • Ong Jmel

Discover Tozeur’s old town and palm grove, then take a 4x4 excursion to the mountain oases and Ong Jmel Star Wars setting.

After breakfast at the hotel, departure to the centre of Tozeur; visit of the old town and free time in the main square and market. Departure to the Tozeur oasis, visit of the Date Museum and a traditional lunch in the shade of the palm trees. In the afternoon, departure by 4x4 to the mountain oases of Chebika and Tamerza to discover pristine and breathtaking desert scenery; villages perched in the Atlas Mountains, offering stunning landscapes with waterfalls and lush palm groves. Continue by 4x4 across the sand dunes to the Star Wars film set, photo stop, then return to Tozeur. Dinner and overnight stay at a 4-star hotel.

Day 6 — Chott El Jerid • Douz

Cross the spectacular salt lake to Douz, with free time and optional quad-bike or camel activities at sunset.

After breakfast, departure to Douz, crossing the vast Tunisian salt flats and the spectacular Chott El Djerid salt lake. Arrival in Douz, gateway to the Tunisian Sahara; free time in the town centre and a typical lunch in a local restaurant. In the afternoon, an optional quad-bike excursion across the dunes, or discover Bedouin culture and enjoy the sunset on a camel. Check-in at a 4-star hotel, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7 — Matmata • El Jem • Sousse

Visit Matmata’s troglodyte homes and El Jem’s Roman amphitheatre before returning to Sousse.
